PUBLIC SCHOOL 53 - Staten Island, NY - After a subway ride, a bus ride and a ferry ride, I made my way to PS 53 and their amazing kids. In total, we had three assemblies in order to reach all the kids in the school! Here are some shots from our time together.
LASSEN COUNTY LIT JAM - Susanville, CA - Talk about a day filled with a love of writing and all things books. The Lassen County Lit Jam Festival was an amazing time and we are looking forward to visiting more schools in Susanville.
RICHMOND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - Susanville, CA - Wow…what a group of kids. I loved this stop on the Lassen County Lit Jam circuit the most. The kids were awesome and so well-behaved.

JOHNSTONVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - Sunsanville, CA - This morning was filled with grades 2-8 at Johnsonville Elementary. These kids had so much energy, Eric had his work cut out for him, but as you can see from these photos, the kids had a blast!
JANESVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - Janesville, CA - The kids at Janesville Elementary School loved Eric’s visit with Saltwater Taffy. As you can see from the pictures below, he made a lasting impression on the futures of the students!
ALLAN PETERSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - Merced, CA - If an author ever felt like a rockstar, this was certainly the case at Allan Peterson Elementary School. A state Blue Ribbon School, the kids at Allan Peterson were awesome!
FUGMAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - Clovis, CA - The kids at Fugman Elementary School in Clovis were awesome! With over 500 kids in the room, we certainly had a great time. Never knew an hour could rush by so fast. Loved these kids!
WATER’S EDGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL – Boca Rotan, FL - The Saltwater Taffy Tour never ends. The latest visit was an assembly for the 3rd – 5th Graders. We were in town to pick up the Reader’s Favorite Gold Medal at the Miami Book Fair International.
CHIMACUM MIDDLE SCHOOL – Chimacum, WA – Working with the Jefferson County Library, we make another stop on the tour and made the Daily News!!! The kids of Chimacum were super cool and wow…what a campus!
PINECREST ELEMENTARY SCHOOL – Bremerton, WA – Another stop on the Saltwater Taffy Tour with the kids from Bremerton, Washington.
BARNES & NOBLE @ THE GROVE – Hollywood, CA – Book Fair for the Harkam Hillel Hebrew Academy in Beverly Hills, CA.
SUNRISE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - East Los Angeles, CA – Working with the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools to inspire inner-city children!
SANTA MONICA BOYS & GIRLS CLUB VISIT – Santa Monica, CA - Visiting my home club in Santa Monica. Our kids are AWESOME!!!!
STANDARD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - Bakersfield, CA - After a reader found out about Saltwater Taffy, his mother contacted us for a school visit. Parents are POWERFUL!!!
GUYS READ BOOK CLUB SKYPE EVENT – Mercer Island, WA – Part of the GUYS READ Book Clubs across the country, the boys from Mercer Island, Washington came prepared! Jasper, Alex, Nolan, Jack, Eli, Cooper, Andrew, and Alex were some of the names I can remember, but the group wore eye patches, plastic swords, and red bandana’s! LOVE IT
ASSISTANCE LEAGUE’S ASSISTEENS EVENT – KEYNOTE – Fresno, California – The Fresno County Chapter of Assistance League has an amazing group of kids in their ASSISTEENS League. 80 books into the hands of kids! Awesome!
TRINITY SCHOOL- New Orleans, Louisiana #2 – A return visit to THE BIG EASY when a request came in from the Trinity School in the Garden District. The visit was made possible when a reader brought her copy of Saltwater Taffy to the school librarian.
BOYS & GIRLS CLUB / OCTAVIA BOOK SHOP - New Orleans, Louisiana #1 - In the Garden District for a signing at Octavia Books, then it was onto the NFL/YET Boys & Girls Club on the east side of New Orleans. Amazing kids and amazing day!
BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF GREATER DALLAS – Dallas, Texas - Reading and talk to the 75 kids at the Boys & Girls Club in Dallas. Amazing kids.
JEWISH DAY SCHOOL IN DENVER & MILE HIGH YOUTH GROUP – After a set of morning interviews, we hit Denver schools and youth groups! Awesome!
BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF ARIZONA- Phoenix, Arizona – Visiting the Jerry Colangelo Boys & Girls Club.
THE UNITED WAY, BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS, BIG BROTHERS/BIG SISTERS – In the great state of Tennessee, we gave away 2500 books to kids ‘against the odds.’
READ ACROSS AMERICA – Watts, California – We gave away 375 books to the kids of Ritter Elementary. Fitting that we got to meet “SWEET” Lou Johnson of Dodger Hall of Fame and the Laker Girls.
HELEN C. CANNON JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL - Las Vegas, Nevada – If you want to talk about an adventure, and something to make you feel really old? Try visiting your Jr. High alma matter. And yes, the taffy mobile for this visit was the lime green FORD FIESTA! Awesome little car! How about a sponsorship, Ford!!!!!
NBC KING 5 MORNING SHOW -Seattle, Washington- New Day Northwest morning show visit. Great people doing great things in the morning.
MOUNTAIN VIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL – Bremerton, Washington – If you ever want to feel like you’re really alive, grab a mic and stand in front of back to back assemblies with 400 kids at a pop! Talk about energy!!!
CEDAR HEIGHTS JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL- Port Orchard, Washington - Two assemblies back to back. #1 450 5th Graders #2 375 6th Graders. Tiring, but inspiring.
BARNES & NOBLE @ THE KITSAP MALL – Silverdale, Washington - After visiting the local schools, the Barnes & Noble event was packed with kids and grandparents too!
ST. ANNE’S CATHOLIC SCHOOL – Santa Monica, CA – Ms. Abel’s 6th grade class, Mr. Murphy’s 7th grade class, and Ms. Brown’s 8th grade class right here in Santa Monica.
OLYMPIC THEATER ARTS – Sequim, Washington – Talk and book signing to kick off the Mark Twain Writing Playwright Competition @ Olympic Theater Arts!
SNOWBALL EXPRESS- Dallas, Texas – With the help of Gary Sinese, The Snowball Express, and American Airlines, 1000 copies of Saltwater Taffy took off from Santa Monica and given to 1oo0 children who lost a parent in the war.
